Our wonderful long wool Romney sheep produce beautiful fiber. Because our sheep are not coated, the locking structure and crimp are very visible. Not only do we have white fiber, but also a large variation in colored fiber. We breed for recessively colored animals; therefore, we have shades from very light gray to black to variegation within a fleece. All of our animals are micron tested, and the average value for the flock is 34ยต. Shearing in January, just before lambing, means that there are no breaks from the birthing stress.
